How Long Is YOUR Arm?

Is the suspension on your Jeep sacked out enough that you might as well have 2WD?  Are the stock size tires rubbing the fenders at every ugly pothole you pass?  Or maybe you've already installed a Super-flex or Super-Ride on your XJ or Cherokee and you are ready to reach even higher.  Either way, what you are looking for is the Rubicon Express XJ, the Extreme Duty Long Arm Upgrade by Rubicon Express.  The Rubicon Express Extreme Duty Long Arm Upgrade provides the driveability you desire in on-road and off-road conditions.

Is The Rubicon Express Extreme Duty Long Arm Kit For Your Vehicle?

If you have already installed the Super-Flex kit, you are ready
to go higher with The Extreme Duty Long Arm Upgrade
 from Rubicon Express.
The Extreme Duty Long Arm Upgrade is designed for vehicles that already have a Rubicon Xpress XJ Cherokee Super-Flex or Super-Ride short arm suspension system, like in the photo to the right.    If your Jeep does not have the Super-Flex or Super-Ride kit.  Then what you are looking for is the Rubicon Express Extreme Duty Long Arm Kit rather than the upgrade.

The kit is available for TJs made from 1997 to 2006.  For Wranglers and Rubicon's made from 1997 to 2006 the kit comes in 3.5", 4.5" and 5.5" lift sizes.  Sorry, Unlimited owners.  The kit only comes in the 3.5"  and 4.5" lift sizes from Unlimiteds made from 2004 to 2006.

A Better Driving Experience With The Rubicon Express Extreme Duty Long Arm Kit.

Whatever Jeep model you drive, you are going to have an improved driving experience.  The kit includes Rubicon Express's patented radius arm design in the front.  This really sets the kit apart.  In the rear the kit comes with a standard four length long arm system that is going to give you real driveability on road and off-road.  If you are concerned about the bushings overheating, that design flaw has totally been fixed.  In fact that entire bushing is new.  The end of the control arm has been redesigned and so has the bushing material itself. The redesign is so tight that Rubicon Express is giving lifetime warranties on the bushings.

Installing the Rubicon Express Extreme Duty Long Arm Kit.

You can install the Long Arm lift kit yourself.  But you are going to need to get your vehicle off the ground.  In addition, there are some things about which you need to be aware.  A shout out is due to The North American XJ Association and 4 Wheel Drive Magazine Online for providing to image filled tutorials on how to complete the installation of the Rubicon Express Extreme Duty Long Arm kit.  The images below come from those tutorials.
When tightening the nuts on the new transmission mount, make sure the
thing is on completely straight and flush.  Once the skid plate is installed
it is gonna be really difficult to access those nuts.

If drive in a city where it snows a lot, be prepared with a blow torch.  In snowy
cities the spreading of salt to get icy off the roads is common. All that
saltwater promotes rust.  Don't be surprise if every nut and bolt is so crusty with
rust that you will need to torch it to get it off.

In the rear when you start installing the new shackle, it may hit a bolt in the
shackle box.  Just cut the bolt down with a saw.

The Rubicon Express Extreme Duty Long Arm Kit comes with everything you need.

  • Drop Pitman Arm
  • Front Adjustable Track Bar
  • Rear Adjustable Track Bar
  • Sway Bar Lengths
  • Transfer Case Center Section Skit Plate

Monotube shocks and twin tube shocks are both offered for this kit but that is left open to you to decide which shocks better suite the type of driving you do.
